Philip Proefrock has worked on projects ranging from libraries to parking garages, as well as a variety of residential work for both single-family and multi-family projects. He has been at the forefront of green building and sustainable design, and was part of the team responsible for the first commercial vegetated roof installed in the State of Michigan for the Ann Arbor District library's Malletts Creek Branch. His previous experience includes nearly a decade with Luckenbach|Ziegelman Architects where he became a key contributor on the firm's green building projects. He continues to have a deep interest in sustainable design.

Philip has been an architecture instructor at Lawrence Technological University where he taught the sustainability studio. He has also been active with the USGBC Detroit Regional Chapter and has served as an educational facilitator for several groups of professionals seeking to earn their own accreditation. His consulting on sustainability topics has ranged from authoring continuing education articles for LEED professionals to serving as a peer reviewer on Green Building Systems for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Philip is a writer on a range of topics. He is the senior contributing writer for EcoGeek.org where he concentrates on green technology, renewable power, architecture and transportation. His articles also appear on Jetson Green, Inhabitat.com, GreenovationTV, Green Building Elements, Green Options, and My Green Palette.

Philip is an active member of the AIA, as well as an NCARB (National Council of Architectural Registration Boards) certificate holder, and a LEED Accredited Professional (BD+C). He is a registered architect in Michigan and Ohio.
